The early 90s sitcom DESMOND\'S followed the lives of staff and customers who frequented
the South London barbershop owned by grumpy Desmond Ambrose (Norman Beaton) and his
sweetnatured wife, Shirley (Carmen Munroe). Among them were the Ambroses\' uptight son,
Michael (Geff Francis), and everyone\'s favourite the zany Caribbean immigrant Porkpie.
Though the series was cancelled after Beaton\'s untimely death, it remains a beloved favourite, which shows that if you are talented you don\'t need curse words or
nudity to be genuinely funny.
