About Naomi Yohani
Naomi Yohani is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Taipei that sings in a variety of styles, ranging from urban R&B and hip-hop to pop and jazz.

Although born and raised speaking Mandarin Chinese, Naomi Yohani is not ethnically Chinese, but native Taiwanese, descended from the tribes that have lived on the island for approximately 4,000 years. Specifically, Naomi is of the Sakizaya tribe and also has ties to the Amis tribe from which her mother hails.

Native Taiwanese singers have long been known for having a natural gift for singing and music and Naomi Yohani is no exception. Naomi began singing from a young age in her church choir, and has also studied both the piano and drums.

Naomi has been hard at work recording her debut full-length album, titled "Bipolar", which is due for release in 2010 on Evocative Records. As indicated by the album's title, most of the tracks are inspired by Naomi's own struggles with Bipolar disorder. Naomi Yohani's Bipolar album takes an honest look at a problem that is known to have haunted some of the world's greatest musicians and creative minds, including soul and R&B singers Nina Simone and Macy Gray, as well as rockers Kurt Cobain of Nirvana and Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses.
