Formed in the summer of 2007, Southern Metal group By Definition have been bringing something new to the diverse Brighton music scene. With a combination of pumping riffs and a dirty vocal style they have proven to be popular with both fans and non fans of the genre alike. The five piece group consisting of Si on Vocals, Rob and Dan on guitars, Jay on bass and Phil on drums have been stamping their name on the city, with nominations in the Best Band and Best Vocalist catagories of the Jackhammer Productions music awards 2011.

After a triumphant first EP entitled "Eyes on Wires" By Definition are back with their new single "Red Lines". Released on the 4th April 2011, it promises to be their highest quality material to date and with more singles due for release later in the year By Definition are ensuring they are the ones to watch in 2011.
